The Unique Charm of Hakka Culture

Image
In Heyuan’s Heping County, Guangdong, lies Pengzhai Town—a place steeped in the rich heritage of Hakka culture. Like a radiant gem, its traditions shine uniquely through the passage of time. Architecture: The Poetry of Hakka Heritage Pengzhai’s Hakka architecture embodies history and wisdom. The ancient enclosed houses ( weiwu ), resembling fortified castles, showcase meticulous layouts and robust structures. Their towering walls once guarded family legacies. Wandering through narrow alleys, one traces the threads of history etched into weathered walls—testaments to resilience and continuity.   Cuisine: A Feast of Flavors Hakka cuisine here is a sensory delight.  Stuffed tofu —golden-fried with savory fillings—melts crisply on the palate.  Ai ban  (mugwort cakes), fragrant with herbal aroma, capture the essence of spring. These dishes reflect not only culinary mastery but also the Hakka people’s devotion to tradition.   Language: The Melody of Identity The Hakka...

Congratulations to Greyson (Liu Yang) on Being Named Weekly Star

Image
We are pleased to announce that Greyson (Liu Yang) from the Foreign Trade Department is this week's "Weekly Star"! Over the past week, Greyson has shown exceptional dedication to developing new clients and has been achieving great success. His goal-driven approach, focused on contributing to the company’s performance, has earned him unanimous praise from both leadership and colleagues. As a reward for his hard work, Greyson will receive a 300 RMB bonus. Weekly Star Award For many foreign trade salespeople, customer development often relies on paid channels provided by the company. They simply use whatever channels the company invests in, waiting for inquiries and sales opportunities. However, with the shifting global market and trends, the effectiveness of many customer development channels has been on the decline. Relying solely on repeat business from existing customers is a risky strategy. Greyson, a newer member of the team, has demonstrated initiative by developing n...

The First Year at SLKOR

Image
Time flies—it has already been a year since I joined the company. This year marked a significant turning point in my life, transitioning from campus to the workplace, a journey filled with challenges and opportunities.   SLKOR  and   Kinghelm ’s 2024 "Bay Core Exhibition" Booth Reflecting on this year’s work and life, I am filled with gratitude and have gained invaluable experiences. When I first joined SLKOR , everything felt unfamiliar yet exciting. From initially having a vague understanding of workflows to now independently handling tasks, every step of progress was made possible by the guidance and support of General Manager Song, Manager Huang, and my colleagues. Over the past year, I deeply realized the importance of teamwork. For instance, during the October exhibition, under General Manager Song’s leadership, we collaborated seamlessly on poster design, booth setup, and promotional activities. Through collective effort, the event concluded successfully. Th...

Chang'an Twelve Hours

Image
In the twilight, the ancient city walls of Xi'an glow with a faint bluish-gray halo. The historical scent seeping through the cracks in the bricks intertwines silently with the aroma of coffee from the street corners. The city is like a well-worn, open-bound book, each page soaked in the ink traces of Qin winds and Han moons, yet marked with modern bookmarks that add new annotations. As you walk through the alleys of this ancient capital that has witnessed thirteen dynasties, there’s always a magical moment where time seems to overlap at every corner.   I. The Time Creases Beneath the City Walls   In the early morning, the fragrance of spicy soup drifts through Yongning Gate, while elderly people practice Tai Chi, their robes flowing in a way that seems to echo the flags fluttering atop the city walls. Renting a bicycle and riding along the walls, the wheels roll over the moonlight from six centuries ago and the dew of this morning. The shadow of the watchtower’s flying...
