Deng Liyou Leads Qtech’s Charge into Global Markets — China’s Tech Power Goes Worldwide

Qtech Technology Co., Ltd Factory in Malaysia

As global manufacturing faces fierce competition, where can domestic processing factories find their breakthrough?
At Qtech Technology Co., Ltd, led by Chairman Deng Liyou, production lines at the company’s Longgang, Shenzhen facility are running at full capacity — and its bold investment in a brand-new factory in Malaysia signals the company’s accelerating global expansion strategy. To uncover the story behind Qtech’s rise and its vision for the international market, the editorial team from Kinghelm (www.kinghelm.net) visited the industrial park for an exclusive conversation with Mr. Deng Liyou.

Mr. Deng Liyou

Born in the 1970s in Mianyang, Sichuan, Mr. Deng Liyou was an early participant in China’s grassroots street-vendor economy. He shares a long-standing friendship with Mr. Song Shiqiang — the well-known “Huaqiangbei Street Economist” — who also hails from Sichuan and has built a distinguished career in Shenzhen.

When we first met Mr. Deng, he stepped out of the bustling workshop in a dust-free suit, removing his mask after personally inspecting the production lines. His hands-on involvement in maintaining product quality left a strong impression. Moments later, we watched him effortlessly transition to preparing tea with a calm, unhurried grace — a perfect reflection of the distinctive Sichuan character: a blend of diligence and ease, confidence and humility.

This balance between “relentless effort” and “leisurely wisdom,” forged in his hometown of Mianyang — China’s only officially designated Science and Technology City — is part of what makes Mr. Deng so compelling. It’s a character both quietly powerful and deeply inspiring.

Mr. Deng Liyou attributes Qtech’s market competitiveness to one core principle: precision management. When asked how to strike the right balance in factory operations, he simply replied, “Let professionals do what they do best — and empower them to excel.”

Leading us through Qtech’s state-of-the-art electronic warehouse, SMT workshop, and DIP workshop, Mr. Deng explained, “Founded in 2014, Qtech Technology Co., Ltd. brings over a decade of production expertise, providing manufacturing solutions for global clients across automotive electronics, medical electronics, telecommunications, industrial automation, and smart home sectors.”

He proudly highlighted the company’s impressive investment in advanced production equipment, including the GKG (G9+) solder paste printer, Sinic-Tek S8080 3D SPI, Yamaha YSM20R and YSM10 chip mounters, JVT 10-zone reflow ovens, Bluiris first-article inspection systems, Scienscope X-Ray, Zoom XRAY point counters, Nittoku wave soldering machines, and Raytron AOI inspection systems. With total equipment investment exceeding tens of millions of RMB, these upgrades have dramatically boosted production efficiency, optimized workflows, and reduced labor dependency.

“That’s why you see so few operators on our lines now,” Deng noted. “Several large workshops are run by just over 50 people — automation and intelligent management have transformed how we operate.”

Qtech has implemented a digitized, lean, and intelligent production system covering the entire product lifecycle — from incoming material inspection to warehousing, planning, production, testing, and delivery. The company offers comprehensive manufacturing services, including SMT material placement, chip processing, PCBA assembly, PCB manufacturing, and DIP insertion. It is capable of delivering high-volume, high-quality products on time, backed by certifications for ISO9001 and ISO13485 quality management systems for medical device production.

“Our strength lies not just in machines, but in how we manage them,” Mr. Deng concluded.

When asked, “As an EMS contract manufacturer, how did Qtech successfully expand internationally?” Mr. Deng Liyou’s answer perfectly captured the philosophy that “the road is made by walking it” — a spirit that echoes Mr. Song Shiqiang’s view of Huaqiangbei as a hub for bold innovation and fearless market pioneers.

Mr. Deng explained that every wave of global industrial relocation presents an invaluable opportunity for forward-looking enterprises to venture abroad and explore new markets. Those who move with the tide, he noted, often find themselves with the wind at their backs. Over the past decades, the fourth (late 20th to early 21st century) and fifth (since 2012) major global industrial shifts have both been led by China, positioning the country as the “world’s factory” and “global manufacturing hub” — what Xiaomi founder Lei Jun famously described as the “air vent of opportunity.”

Since its founding in 2014, Qtech — jointly invested by Mr. Deng Liyou and Malaysian Chinese partners — has deeply cultivated the Chinese market for over a decade, amassing invaluable operational experience. Today, Malaysia has become the strategic anchor for Qtech’s “China + 1” supply chain initiative — both a natural extension of its global ambitions and a meaningful return to Southeast Asian markets.

Mr. Deng highlighted the latest milestones in Qtech’s Malaysian expansion: the company secured its new factory premises in December 2024, completed equipment installation by May 2025 — with over 10 million RMB invested in fully automated production lines — and officially commenced trial operations in June.

“It’s a strategic move in sync with the times and a new chapter for Qtech’s international journey,” Deng emphasized.

Mr. Song Shiqiang, General Manager of Kinghelm (www.kinghelm.com.cn) and Slkor, emphasized that SMT is a vital link in the intelligent manufacturing process for electronic products. He praised Qtech, under the leadership of Deng Liyou, as a fast-rising force in the industry, earning the trust of discerning clients both domestically and internationally.

Mr. Song noted that Qtech’s global expansion not only strengthens the international footprint of China’s manufacturing sector but also creates valuable opportunities for upstream and downstream partners. This includes helping Kinghelm’s RF antennas and connectors, along with Slkor’s power devices and analog components, seamlessly integrate into the global supply chains of overseas customers — further advancing the internationalization of China’s semiconductor industry.

From the ambitious "Made in China 2025" initiative to the emerging "New Quality Productivity" strategy, China’s processing industries are navigating a landscape full of both opportunities and challenges.

Mr. Deng shared his motivation: "I chose this path driven by a dream—to grow strong and resilient, to push my limits, and to see how far we can go. Today, Qtech’s greatest mission is to endure and thrive alongside the dedicated team who have stood by me through every challenge. I have full confidence in the semiconductor industry’s future and believe that we, the Chinese people, are among the smartest, hardest-working, and most resourceful innovators in the world."

Kinghelm and General Manager Mr. Song Shiqiang warmly extend their best wishes to Chairman Deng Liyou and the entire Qtech team. Under Deng’s visionary leadership, we believe Qtech will continue to champion self-reliance, strengthen its manufacturing capabilities, and build a bright future for all the dedicated colleagues who have stood together through every challenge.

We also celebrate the successful launch of Qtech’s new factory in Malaysia and look forward to its growth and prosperity. With ambitions to expand further, Qtech is set to become a global benchmark for Chinese manufacturing excellence—setting new international standards for quality and innovation.
