A Chaozhou-born entrepreneur of the 1970s generation, Mr. Chen has spent three decades building his career—27 years deeply rooted in Shenzhen’s Huaqiangbei electronics hub and nine years contributing to the development of the Qianhai area. Today, these three enterprises employ more than 600 people worldwide. During the interview, we also had the opportunity to meet Mr. Chen’s son, Chen Qiyue—a poised and impressive young man in his twenties who has studied overseas for six years and is set to return in two. His global perspective, independence, and confident ambition vividly reflect the belief that “when the youth are strong and wise, the future of the nation is strong and wise.”

Upon meeting Mr. Chen Haisheng for the first time, his understated attire, approachable manner, and calm yet genuinely joyful expression leave an immediate impression. There is a natural elegance about him that evokes the saying, “True nobility comes from humility.” Behind him, an entire wall lined with books, publications, trophies, and certificates quietly reflects his belief that “inner tranquility outweighs all material luxury.” Throughout the interview, his warm, resonant laughter filled the room like a gentle spring breeze, uplifting everyone present. When asked why he laughs so often, Mr. Chen replied:
"Years of experience have taught me to be grateful for a peaceful environment, to savor the present moment, and to cherish what I have. My joy comes from understanding that everything is an experience—life’s sweetness and bitterness together give it depth and meaning."

He embraces a simple lifestyle, prioritizing family time, abstaining from smoking and drinking, and nurturing a love for reading. He shares insights quarterly with a 100+ member reading group. His company fosters a culture of daily good deeds, 8-minute traditional culture audio sessions, and active participation in mentorship, public welfare, and social responsibility programs.

As head of Meigang, Mr. Chen holds a bachelor’s degree from Wuhan University Business School and an EMBA from Sun Yat-sen University. He developed the “Stop, Observe, Let Go, Create” method for emotional management and, over 25 years, has trained employees to “Be a good person before doing things.” He established a company canteen and a 700+ sq.m. operational facility. His communication philosophy emphasizes respect and trust, avoiding blame or scolding. Employees benefit from monthly one-hour personal meetings with Mr. Chen, daily 20-minute morning briefings, and weekly speaking rotations—fostering engagement and dialogue without rigid attendance rules.

When asked about his greatest influence, Mr. Chen shared:
"I have four children—three daughters and one son, Chen Qiyue. I try to limit their direct involvement in the company to minimize family influence. The essence of parenting, for me, is kindness. Yet my son’s philosophy—‘be happy and make others happy’—has profoundly inspired me."

Recently returned to Shenzhen, Chen Qiyue, standing nearly 1.8m tall, greeted visitors with a polite bow, reflecting his humble upbringing. Mr. Chen proudly introduced his son, born in 2004, who spent six formative years studying abroad, navigating pandemic challenges with resilience and gratitude.
Now a sophomore at the University of California, Qiyue majors in International Trade with a minor in Entrepreneurship, while exploring International Relations and Business Management. Passionate about basketball, soccer, volleyball, and baseball, he values friendships across cultures and immerses himself in Chaozhou heritage. Guided by lessons of thrift and humility, Qiyue plans to graduate and return to China to make a meaningful contribution to society.

"Culture is a powerful force. Altruism is the highest form of self-interest—and I am its greatest beneficiary. Our employees often say work is twice as demanding, yet twice as rewarding. In 2026, AI Machine Era will undergo corporate restructuring in preparation for listing.
