Integrating Theory and Practice – My Mutual Journey with Kinghelm

As I cleared my desk and restored it to the same neat order as on my very first day, the glass façade of the Star River Twin Towers outside caught the afternoon sunlight — a vivid reminder that my two-month internship at Kinghelm Electronics in Shenzhen (www.kinghelm.net) had come to a close. As a sophomore majoring in Economics at Han Mountain Normal University, this first real-world experience gave me far more than just a glimpse into business operations. It allowed me to feel the true “texture” of how companies work and to see, with some excitement, how classroom knowledge—marketing principles, supply and demand dynamics, and strategic thinking—can be transformed into practical tools for analyzing day-to-day challenges in a fast-paced global company.

A New Field to Explore

When I first stepped into Kinghelm, the world of electronic components felt like a fascinating new book waiting to be opened. Coming from a liberal arts background, I was both curious and nervous — rehearsing my self-introduction outside the door while picturing what lay ahead. Yet the moment I entered, that anxiety melted away. The bright, well-organized workspace, the welcoming rhythm of the office, and even the small gesture of warm water and a product brochure from the receptionist immediately bridged the gap between me and Kinghelm. I’m especially grateful to General Manager Mr. Song Shiqiang for giving me the opportunity to enter this field where theory meets practice and ideas become reality.

Key Tasks and Personal Growth
Throughout my internship, three core assignments reshaped how I see business, communication, and technology:

  • Daily Product Descriptions: Writing “Product of the Day” summaries taught me how to translate complex technical features into customer-friendly benefits. By spotlighting the safety and stability of a tactile switch, for example, I wasn’t just explaining specifications — I was showing why the product stood out, making it easier for customers to choose the right solution quickly.

  • Building a Language Bridge: Translating Chinese specifications into English turned abstract technical terms into globally recognized value. Whether it was “tactile switch” or “waterproof rating IP67,” accurate translation helped Kinghelm’s products cross borders and reach international markets. Each time my mentor gave me a thumbs-up, I was reminded that every new language skill is another window to the world.

  • Optimizing Web Content: Working on the company’s website taught me the digital logic of customer acquisition. Enhancing keywords and refining product pages was like drawing a treasure map — guiding customers directly to the solutions they needed. I learned first-hand that efficient online communication is what connects the right product to the right audience at the right time.

This experience transformed what was once unfamiliar territory into an interconnected landscape of technology, marketing, and global communication — and gave me the confidence to navigate it.

Company Culture and Employee Growth

At Kinghelm, what impressed me most was the company’s unwavering commitment to employee development. General Manager Mr. Song Shiqiang personally led multiple training sessions covering topics such as the “Kinghelm/Slkor Vision System,” “Risk Control System,” industry knowledge, company strategy, and future trends. He also empowered employees by giving them opportunities to lead presentations and share expertise. Managers like Mr. Song Yuanming and Mr. Peng Huisheng offered in-depth product knowledge and practical insights, while Mr. Sun Gaofei and Ms. Lin Yuanfang provided hands-on training on “Apprenticeship Processes” and “Handling Defective Products and Customer Communication.”

Beyond internal programs, Kinghelm actively exposed employees to external learning opportunities, such as the “Xincheng Growth Practical Salon” and “Sales Champion Customer Insights” events, and invited industry experts to deliver high-level sessions on scientific project management, finance, and tax compliance. These initiatives significantly boosted my efficiency and broadened my technical understanding. For instance, the semiconductor knowledge lectures gave me the ability to identify key product attributes when drafting “Product of the Day” descriptions, while the foreign trade training sharpened my professionalism in translating specifications and engaging with international audiences. This culture of continuous learning felt like a true partnership—helping me grow while enabling me to create greater value for the company.

A Heartfelt Thank You
I am sincerely grateful to Mr. Song Shiqiang, General Manager of Kinghelm and Slkor. Despite his demanding schedule running two companies, he took time to meet with us interns, encourage open discussions, and even host a welcome dinner. His initiative to offer scholarships for internship reflections showed his genuine care for nurturing young talent. Mr. Song often emphasizes: “A strong team, a talented workforce—this is the foundation of a thriving company. Talent is the key to everything, and at Kinghelm and Slkor we strive to help you grow, sharpen your vision, and better understand the world.”

These words and actions reflect a leadership style built on respect, empowerment, and mentorship—qualities that create an environment where people feel valued, supported, and inspired. In an age of rapid technological change, this human-centered culture is Kinghelm’s most valuable asset.

A Farewell with Gratitude and Hope

As I prepare to return to campus, my suitcase carries far more than an internship certificate — it holds the invaluable experience of merging theory with practice and the unforgettable memories of my time at Kinghelm. This journey taught me that business is more than numbers and charts; it’s about the human touch behind every product description, translated document, and line of website code. I’ve come to see the market not as an abstract concept but as a living process where customer needs and company offerings continuously shape and refine one another.

As I say goodbye, my hopes for the future are filled with optimism. I sincerely wish Kinghelm (www.kinghelm.net) and Slkor (www.slkormicro.com) continued growth and innovation under Mr. Song Shiqiang’s visionary leadership. May their reach expand globally, their impact deepen, and their journey toward becoming publicly listed companies be smooth and successful. To my colleagues, I wish fulfilling careers and bright prospects ahead. And to the “Kinghelm” brand, may it continue connecting the world and delivering exceptional quality and unexpected breakthroughs worldwide.
