Qiu Huilin, Director of Foreign Trade Department, driving SLKOR's international development journey

Since its establishment in 2015, SLKOR has evolved from a promising domestic newcomer into a shining star in the international semiconductor industry, marking nine fruitful years on its semiconductor journey. Over this time, the company's workforce has grown from a dozen employees to approximately one hundred, with successive waves of dedicated staff making significant contributions. Together, they have witnessed and contributed to SLKOR's growth. Qiu Huilin, Director of SLKOR Semiconductor Foreign Trade Department, has been a key part of this journey.

Qiu Huilin has been involved in sales for sixteen years and currently serves as the Director of Foreign Trade Departments at both SLKOR and Kinghelm. In 2022, he made the serendipitous decision to join SLKOR as a semiconductor sales representative.

 

"Previously, I mainly worked in LED sales, and when I first came to SLKOR, I started from the most basic sales position," Qiu Huilin recalled. Despite his years of sales experience, entering the semiconductor industry posed a challenge for him. When asked if transitioning was difficult, he smiled and replied, As long as you overcome the fear within, it's not that hard.'

 

Facing a new industry, he actively learned about and familiarized himself with new products. Throughout this process, he found many similarities in knowledge and skills, which made him increasingly adept at his work.

Under the leadership of General Manager Mr. Song Shiqiang, SLKOR semiconductor and Kinghelm Electronics have rapidly developed and gained prominence within the industry. As the company's pace of growth accelerates, so does the expansion of our team. 'When I first arrived, the company had only thirty to forty employees, and we were based in Longhua Zhantao Building,' Qiu Huilin mentioned. In order to provide employees with a better and more spacious working environment, General Manager Song Shiqiang conducted inspections and within less than a month, relocated our office to Bairuida Building, adjacent to Huawei.

With the steady development of SLKOR Semiconductor in the domestic market, General Manager Song Shiqiang has shifted his focus towards broader international markets. In 2023, SLKOR officially established its Foreign Trade Department, marking the start of its internationalization strategy.

 

I transferred to the Foreign Trade Department in 2024,' Qiu Huilin noted. Within just two years at SLKOR, leveraging his extensive sales experience and sharp market insights, Qiu Huilin was appointed as the Director of the Foreign Trade Department in 2024. When asked about his longstanding commitment to sales, Qiu Huilin replied, 'While the entry barrier for sales positions may be low, they demand a high level of comprehensive qualities and have no upper limit, which is precisely where their allure lies.

When Qiu Huilin first joined the Foreign Trade Department, he encountered challenges in language communication. 'There are significant differences between domestic and foreign clients in terms of language, purchasing habits, and time zones,' Qiu Huilin explained. 'Domestically, communication via WeChat is convenient, whereas foreign clients primarily use tools like email, Skype, WhatsApp, etc. Moreover, due to communication habits and time differences, responses are often slower, leading to lower efficiency.'

 

Faced with this new environment, Qiu Huilin took proactive measures. He humbly learned from peers and colleagues, skillfully using translation tools and software to overcome communication barriers. He continuously explored and practiced methods to improve communication efficiency in the exploration of international trade. Additionally, he actively participated in semiconductor industry salons and exhibitions, gaining insights into international client needs and the overseas market landscape. Gradually, he found a work rhythm that suited him well.

Due to the recent establishment of the Foreign Trade Department, the initial development plan for overseas markets was not sufficiently clear, resulting in several detours and suboptimal early results. Faced with this situation, Qiu Huilin remained calm and carefully analyzed the market situation and company conditions. Drawing from his sixteen years of sales experience, he formulated a completely new development plan.

 

This plan not only clarified the department's development goals and direction but also proposed practical implementation strategies. It provided a solid foundation for the rapid growth of SLKOR's Foreign Trade Department.

After in-depth discussions and consensus with General Manager Mr. Song Shiqiang, the development framework of the Foreign Trade Department became clear and well-defined. Subsequently, a series of targeted overseas market promotion activities and customer service plans were systematically launched. Leveraging the team's efficient execution capabilities, SLKOR quickly made significant strides in international markets, earning trust and support from numerous clients within a short period.

 

Currently, SLKOR has established a solid customer base in Turkey, Poland, and Russia. Moving forward, the company plans to continue expanding its customer base through overseas promotions and strategic partnerships, ensuring SLKOR sails steadily and swiftly in the international market ocean.

At the end of the interview, Qiu Huilin shared three insights derived from his sixteen years of sales experience: 'Firstly, it's crucial to choose the right industry and company. Secondly, perseverance is key—overcome inertia, continuously learn, reflect, and have a keen sense of insight. Lastly, adaptability and genuine kindness towards others are essential.'
