Two Decades of Innovation: Exclusive Interview with QCA TECH LIMITED Founder & CEO Wang Lei on China’s Semiconductor Rise

“Hard work + integrity = extraordinary achievements.”
This simple yet powerful formula captures the entrepreneurial philosophy of Mr. Wang Lei, Founder and General Manager of QCA TECH LIMITED. Since establishing the company in 2014, Wang has led with unwavering dedication and purpose.

“QCA Tech has completed its first decade,” Wang reflects. “Through persistence, strong corporate values, and reliable products, we’ve built a foundation for long-term growth. We sincerely thank our peers, loyal customers, and friends for their continued support. As we enter our second decade, we will build on our industry experience, the compounding power of time, and continuous self-learning to drive high-quality, sustainable development. This perfectly embodies our vision: ‘Create value, meet needs, and give back to society.’”

Born in Sichuan in the 1980s, Wang Lei was raised with the values of integrity and humility—living up to his name “Lei,” which symbolizes brightness and uprightness. After graduating from university, he moved to Shenzhen, where he has built his career and life over the past 20 years.

He reflects with gratitude:

“I’m thankful for all the mentors and friends who guided, challenged, and supported me. They shaped not only my professional journey but also my character. Business begins with being a good person. True success is grounded in virtue and respect. Over the years, I’ve learned to be tolerant toward others, to recognize my own shortcomings, to stay self-driven, and above all, to remain loyal and upright in both life and work.”

Wang Lei reflects on two decades in Shenzhen

With two decades of dedication to the semiconductor industry, Wang has cultivated a powerful trio of strengths: self-learning, self-motivation, and self-discipline. He believes that academic degrees matter less than the ability to keep learning. Before traveling, he prepares by studying extensively; during trips, he learns through hands-on experience; and after returning, he deepens his insights through reflection and further reading — a process of learning not once, but three times.

When it comes to self-motivation, Wang emphasizes proactive learning and forward-thinking leadership, dedicating his focus to expanding new agency lines and driving the company’s strategic growth. For self-discipline, he refers to studies showing that habits form in 60 days — a reminder of why he stays away from distractions and addictions.

An avid swimmer (he once took second place in a university breaststroke competition), certified scuba diver, rock climber, and ice climber, Wang finds that these pursuits continuously recharge his energy and fuel his determination — both in life and in leadership.

“Those who have seen the world understand it better.”
Guided by this belief, Wang founded Shenzhen QCA Tech (ks-ic.com) — an independent distributor and value-added service provider of electronic components. The company’s portfolio spans renowned global brands such as MAXIM, Microchip, ST, Lattice, Xilinx, TI, ONSEMI, SLKOR, Kinghelm, MIC, Fairchild, and ADI, along with discontinued and hard-to-find ICs.

QCA Tech’s offerings cover a wide spectrum — from chips and crystals to MOSFETs, thyristors, resistors, potentiometers, and relays — widely used in communications, electronics, power systems, aerospace, instrumentation, medical equipment, and industrial control.

With a strong long-term inventory, close partnerships with international manufacturers and solution providers, and a professional import-export hub in Hong Kong, QCA Tech continues to expand its global footprint. The company is now deepening its collaboration with Kinghelm (www.kinghelm.net) and Slkor (www.slkoric.com) to jointly deliver high-quality products and technical support to customers worldwide.

Prosperous future for QCA Tech

“Reputation outweighs ability. A good reputation is the lifeblood of a business.”
Over the years, QCA Tech has earned deep trust across the industry. When asked how to sustain long-term credibility, Wang emphasizes the importance of clear self-awareness — understanding who you are, what you can do, what truly matters, and remaining composed in success.

He avoids self-promotion, believing that momentary glory cannot sustain lasting achievement. Through travel and reflection, he has come to see that real fulfillment lies in the journey, not just the destination.

Just as in personal life, a company must honor its commitments, uphold ethics and integrity, and practice long-termism through steady, consistent effort. Time reveals everything — and true customer trust is built year by year. As a leader, Wang keeps his philosophy simple: complete five meaningful tasks each day — everything beyond that is a bonus.

Work, travel, and philanthropy coexist in perfect harmony in Wang’s life.
At QCA Tech, talent is valued not just for skills, but for character, curiosity, initiative, and resilience — qualities that fuel teamwork and innovation.

“Reading ten thousand books is not as good as traveling ten thousand miles.”

Wang has journeyed across six continents, deliberately seeking remote destinations and transformative experiences. For him, the unknown is not something to fear but to embrace — every challenge sparks excitement, inspiration, and personal growth, turning each journey into a new chapter of self-discovery.

Wang is also a committed philanthropist and a proud member of the Shenzhen Ande Charity Group.
Under his leadership, QCA Tech has donated to Guangdong’s “Heart Relief” program, supporting children with congenital heart disease, and has been a long-time contributor to initiatives of the Sichuan-Chongqing Semiconductor Association.

On December 28, 2024, Wang served as chief director of the association’s annual ceremony in Shenzhen, coordinating the event with grace and humility — noting that “99.99% of the credit goes to others.”

Kinghelm and Slkor also joined in amplifying the event globally across their four official websites, earning widespread recognition and praise from entrepreneurs across the semiconductor community.

With craftsmanship and sincerity, Wang Lei continues to build a lasting enterprise.

“Leave yesterday’s glory behind and embrace the unknown ahead.”

He believes that true opportunities emerge every few years — and capturing even one or two can change everything, as long as one is prepared. In an era where knowledge evolves at lightning speed, especially in the semiconductor industry, continuous learning remains the key to staying ahead.

From the unknown to the future, Wang keeps learning relentlessly, grounding his career in semiconductors, practicing philanthropy, and finding inspiration through travel — quietly walking the heroic path of an ordinary man.

At the 148th Huqiang Lecture Series, he distilled his philosophy into four timeless principles for success in both sales and life: persistence, long-term vision, moral integrity, and understanding people.
